Wiring Harnesses

AMERICAN MUSCLE is proud to offer Painless wiring harnesses. Painless harnesses use only the highest quality wire available: thermal cross-linked (TXL) polyethylene wire rated to 275 degrees at 600 volts. TXL wire has twice the voltage rating of standard general purpose (GPT) wire. Plus, it will not kink and is abrasion resistant, making it much easier to route. Painless chassis harness uses an OEM-style fuse block. These fuse blocks feature easy-to-find, modern blade-type fuses, clearly labeled circuits, corrosion resistant construction and a compact design. Every Painless chassis harness comes out of the box with the wiring already terminated to the fuse block, not by hand but with state-of-the-art Packard presses. This assures you of a trouble-free performance that hand or screw connections cannot match. Just mount the block and route the wires. Open the box and the wire is already bundled in sections: front, rear, engine, etc. Simply mount the fuse block, start with one section of the car and route the wire. Each wire is printed with the application so you know right where it goes. To further ensure a painless installation, each chassis harness is OE color-coded for easy trouble-shooting.

The universal 18-Circuit kit is modified to include custom features to make it easier to wire GM muscle cars. A pre-wired factory style bulkhead connector plugs into to the fuse block through the firewall in the stock location. Easy-to-install, factory original, quick connect terminals are included for the in-dash printed circuit board. Pre-terminated plugs for the ignition and turn signal switches are included. |

These kits come preterminated for the following switches and accessories: blower motor, wipers, ignition, headlight switches, voltage regulator, turn signals and flashers, lighter, brake switch, dimmer switch, brake warning light and headlight bulbs. Additional circuits include electric choke, cooling fan, digital radio memory, tach power, signal indicators, dash lights, and ignition ballast resistor. The simplest and most complete way to rewire these classic Fords. This harness comes with a fully assembled 14-circuit micro fuse block complete with 12 modern blade-type ATO fuses and 2 relays. |

FORWARD SECTION
Includes wiring for the headlights, turn signals, parking lights, generator/alternator, regulator and horns.
ENGINE SECTION
Includes wiring for the starter, ignition, electric fan, heater fan, oil pressure sending unit and engine temperature sending unit.
Each kit also has provisions for factory instrumentation options, including either an alternator light or amperage meter, engine monitoring lights or gauges, a single turn signal indicator or separate left and right indicators, and an ammeter induction connection or direct connection.

This 14 Circuit fuse block complete with 12 modern micro mini fuses and 2 relays is a factory upgrade for the 1969 to 1970 Ford Mustangs. Universal Harnesses
If your car is not among the specific vehicle applications mentioned above, a proven universal kit is your best choice. These kits are designed to be used on a wide range of vehicle types. All of the kits come ready to install. The 12 circuit kits will cover most basic wiring needs.
If your vehicle will have additional electrical accessories such as power windows, door locks or other creature comforts, you will want the 18 circuit harness. Remember that you may want to install these additional items some time in the future, so now is the time to provide wiring by installing the 18 circuit harness. There is one other consideration that is important: Is your ignition switch on the steering column or in the dash? Use the designated "for GM steering column" for early style "keyed" steering columns from GM. All kits come with more than enough wire and terminals, etc. to do the job. You cut and route to suit your vehicle's needs.
